Kits worth opening twice.
The Edit — Craft
6 kits in 5 materials: plastic bricks, snap-fit plastic, printed parts, laser-cut wood and etched steel. The easier the parts go together, the fewer complaints owners report.

The Christmas wreath kits filling Amazon's new releases are too new to have an owner record. Here is what the craft involves, and why no shortlist of them is possible yet.

The Edit — Craft
An ornament on a tree is seen from both sides, and most of these kits sparkle on 1. 7 kits compared on what decides how they hang: drilled on both faces, printed on the back, or bare.

The Edit — Craft

A pointed nib makes its line from pressure, and a broad-edge nib from its width, 1.5 to 6 mm on Pilot's pens. Either needs smooth paper: 32 lb laser paper is about 120 g/m², and owners say it stops bleed-through.

The Edit — Craft
Pilot's set gives a beginner 4 broad-edge pens, 1.5 to 6 mm, with no dipping and no nib to set up. Owners call it good value and easy to use. The ink flow is the complaint, too little for some and too much for others.

The Edit — Craft
Most craft kits are opened once and abandoned, and the reason is almost always the same: the materials are the cheapest component and they are the part that decides whether the first attempt works.

The Edit — Craft
Search for a needlepoint kit and most of what comes back is embroidery, which is a different craft on different fabric with different thread. Once you have filtered those out, three specifications decide the rest.
