Storage comes first, because the old card won’t run games
Nintendo’s Switch 2 has 256GB built in and takes microSD Express cards up to 2TB. An ordinary microSD card from the first Switch will hold screenshots and videos, but it will not load a game. SanDisk’s 512GB microSD Express card states read speeds up to 880MB/s and says on the listing it works with the Switch 2. An owner who buys only game cards can wait.

Docked on a TV, the Switch 2 runs games at up to 4K, and that is where a full-size controller earns its place. Nintendo’s Switch 2 Pro Controller adds an audio jack and 2 programmable buttons on the grips. In handheld mode the attached Joy-Con 2 already do the job.

What lost: 20-in-1 bundles and cooling docks
Bundles of 18 or 20 pieces were left out: most of the pieces duplicate what comes in the box, and the case is the only part most owners use. A third-party dock with a cooling fan was left out too, because Nintendo’s own dock is in the box. For a younger gamer’s first tablet instead, see kids’ tablets, and for the headset question, HyperX against Razer.
