USB-C Hubs, Compared

Five hubs between 4.3 and 4.5. The ports mostly work; power pass-through is the complaint on 2, and connectivity, speed or HDMI on the rest. Buy for the ports you need, then check the pass-through.

The 5 hubs are ranked by rating and then by how many owners rated them, read on 21 September 2026, as How we choose describes. Nothing here was connected or tested.

At a glance

Anker USB-C Hub, 7-in-1 with 4K 60Hz HDMI

Good fit One hub for a desk and a bag, with a display output

Not for You need 10Gbps transfer speeds

Anker USB-C Hub, 5-in-1 with 4K HDMI

Good fit It lives in a laptop bag and comes out in hotel rooms

Not for You are building a permanent desk setup

UGREEN Revodok Pro USB-C Hub, 6-in-1, 10Gbps

Good fit You move large files off cameras or drives

Not for You are relying on charging through the hub

Amazon Basics Multiport USB-C Hub Dock, 10Gbps

Good fit You want extra ports with simple plug-and-play setup

Not for You need the fastest transfers on every port

Anker USB-C Hub, 8-in-1 with Ethernet

Good fit You need wired Ethernet and the most ports

Not for The HDMI output is the port you cannot afford to lose

Buy for the 3 ports you will actually use

A hub is bought for a display output, for USB-A devices, or for a wired network. Counting ports beyond those 3 jobs adds cost and, on this evidence, adds things that can fail.

Hub Ports Headline feature Ratings
Anker 7-in-1 7 HDMI 4K at 60Hz 5,285
Anker 5-in-1 5 Travel size 18,806
UGREEN Revodok Pro 6 10Gbps on 4 ports 7,232
Amazon Basics dock Multiport 10Gbps rated 1,411
Anker 8-in-1 8 Ethernet, 85W pass-through 9,577

Power pass-through is the feature owners argue about

On the Anker 7-in-1 and the UGREEN, the complaints are about charging through the hub rather than about the data ports. UGREEN’s Revodok Pro is the sharper example: owners praise the HDMI and the 10Gbps ports, and some report the power pass-through not working at all.

A hub keeps part of the wattage it receives, so a 100W charger never delivers 100W to the laptop through one. What the watts have to match sets out the arithmetic, including the cable rule that caps an unmarked cable at 60W.

The default: Anker’s 7-in-1

Anker USB-C Hub, 7-in-1 with 4K 60Hz HDMI

Seven ports including 4K 60Hz HDMI in a case owners describe as solid and genuinely pocketable.

Specifications for Anker USB-C Hub, 7-in-1 with 4K 60Hz HDMI
Ports7, HDMI 4K 60Hz
Owners praiseBuild, plug and play
Mixed reportsPower features

4.5 across 5,285 ratings is the best score here. Owners describe a solid build in a compact case, vital ports added in a small form factor, and plug-and-play behaviour with no driver hunting.

Power features draw the mixed reports. For a laptop that needs HDMI, USB-A and a card reader on a desk and in a bag, this is the one to default to.

Buy it if

  • One hub for a desk and a bag, with a display output

Don't buy it if

  • You need 10Gbps transfer speeds

The travel hub, and the fast one

Anker USB-C Hub, 5-in-1 with 4K HDMI

The travel size, with 18,806 ratings behind it and a footprint owners pick specifically for a bag.

Specifications for Anker USB-C Hub, 5-in-1 with 4K HDMI
Ports5, HDMI 4K 30Hz
Owners praisePortability, small size
Mixed reportsConnectivity

18,806 ratings at 4.4, the deepest record on this page. Owners buy the 5-in-1 for its size, calling it highly portable and small enough to fit where a larger hub will not.

Connectivity draws mixed reports. Buy it as the hub that lives in the bag rather than the one wired into a desk.

Buy it if

  • It lives in a laptop bag and comes out in hotel rooms

Don't buy it if

  • You are building a permanent desk setup
For 10Gbps transfers

UGREEN Revodok Pro USB-C Hub, 6-in-1, 10Gbps

10Gbps across 4 ports and 4K 60Hz HDMI, on a build owners call solid for the money.

Specifications for UGREEN Revodok Pro USB-C Hub, 6-in-1, 10Gbps
Transfer10Gbps, 4 ports
DisplayHDMI 4K 60Hz
Owners reportPass-through failures

The Revodok Pro’s case is 10Gbps across 4 ports plus 4K 60Hz HDMI, and owners call the build solid and the value strong, with one noting the transfer speed holding up across all 4.

The pass-through is the warning. Some owners report it not working at all, so treat this as a data hub and charge the laptop directly. 4.4 across 7,232 ratings.

Buy it if

  • You move large files off cameras or drives

Don't buy it if

  • You are relying on charging through the hub

The cheap dock, and the 8-port one to think twice about

The Amazon Basics dock and the Anker 8-in-1 sit at either end of this page: 1,411 ratings at 4.4 against 9,577 at 4.3, and 10Gbps transfers against Ethernet and a stated 85W pass-through.

Amazon Basics Multiport USB-C Hub Dock, 10Gbps

The retailer's own dock, praised for build and plug-and-play simplicity, with transfer speed the split.

Specifications for Amazon Basics Multiport USB-C Hub Dock, 10Gbps
RatedUSB 3.2 Gen 2, 10Gbps
Owners praiseCase, ease of use
Mixed reportsTransfer speed

4.4 across 1,411 ratings on the retailer’s own dock, rated USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10Gbps. Owners report it working well, easy to use, and describe the small case as well made.

Transfer speed is where reports split: some measure it running fast, others less so. It is the low-risk way to add ports when the ports are all you need.

Buy it if

  • You want extra ports with simple plug-and-play setup

Don't buy it if

  • You need the fastest transfers on every port

Anker USB-C Hub, 8-in-1 with Ethernet

Eight ports with Ethernet and 85W pass-through from a 100W charger, and the lowest score here.

Specifications for Anker USB-C Hub, 8-in-1 with Ethernet
Ports8, Ethernet, HDMI 4K 60Hz
Pass-through85W stated
Owners reportHDMI ports failing

Eight ports including Ethernet and a stated 85W pass-through; Anker says the hub itself uses 15W and asks for a 100W charger. Owners confirm the power delivery works and use it with a Steam Deck. Several wish it had one more USB-A port.

It also carries the most specific failure report here: HDMI ports that stop working. At 4.3 across 9,577 ratings it is the lowest-scored hub on the page, and the display output is usually the reason to buy a hub at all.

Buy it if

  • You need wired Ethernet and the most ports

Don't buy it if

  • The HDMI output is the port you cannot afford to lose

The most-rated hub here, the Anker 5-in-1, has its own evidence profile, including the 4K 30Hz limit on its HDMI port. A hub adds ports; it does not add power. The charger and cable that feed it are covered in USB-C laptop chargers, and a smart plug on the desk is the other half of a tidy setup.
