Utopia’s gusseted pair suits most back sleepers
A gusset is a fabric strip sewn around the edge, so the pillow keeps a boxy, even height instead of a dome. That suits a back sleeper, who needs moderate height under the neck and not much more.
Utopia Bedding gusseted pillows were 9th in Amazon’s Bedding best sellers on 7 October 2026, and they top this page on rating and count together.

Side sleepers should buy adjustable fill
A side sleeper needs the most height of the 3 positions, enough to fill the gap between ear and mattress, and that gap depends on shoulder width. An adjustable pillow lets you take fill out until the neck sits level. Pillow loft and sleeping position explains how to judge it.

Flatter pillows suit stomach sleepers
A stomach sleeper needs the least height, 3 inches or less, or the neck bends back all night. A softer, flatter hotel pillow is the usual answer, and the complaint other sleepers have about it is the point here. For the sheets on the same bed, see sheet sets, compared.

Tempur-Pedic and latex cost the name, not the loft
TEMPUR foam and Talalay latex pillows hold their shape rather than flattening overnight, so their height is fixed when you buy. That is good if the height suits you and a problem if it does not, because unlike shredded fill it cannot be adjusted.
TEMPUR-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud Pillow, Standard, 2-Pack
7,586 ratings at 4.3, a TEMPUR foam pair that owners split on for support, thickness and value.
